   ~~~ TEXTILE BANKS AT COXCOMBE RECREATION GROUND ~~~    26 September, 2017
Unfortunately, over the past year or two there has been a growing tendency for textiles to be left in bags at the side of the banks and other items of domestic waste have also been left next to the banks.  It has cost the parish council contractor time to feed the banks with items left outside or quite significant sums to take and dispose of non-textile items at an appropriate amenity facility.
Because of this the Parish Council has taken the decision to remove the recycling banks, in an attempt to discourage this costly fly-tipping.  Instead the Council will give an annual monetary donation to the Air Ambulance Service, which has assisted in Chiddingfold on a few occasions.
It is regrettable that the banks have to be removed, as they were convenient for a number of residents, in particular our non-drivers and elderly.  However, the abuse of this facility means that it was costing the Parish Council more to keep them there than not.
The nearest amenity tip is in Witley, just off the A283.
