| CHIDDINGFOLD EMERGENCY PLAN (2010-02-01) |
Village Emergency Plan The Parish Council has had the development of an emergency plan on its agenda for a few months now and in light of our experience in the recent weather we felt it would be a good idea to have a meeting with all interested parties to get their input and help in formulating it. The meeting will be held at 7pm in the Charles Watts Room of the Village Hall on Monday 01 February 2010. The intention is to have a plan that can be adapted for different situations that might arise – heavy snow and being cut off from the outside world being an obvious one. If we had lost power at the same time for any significant period it would have been a far worse situation. Other scenarios might be less likely to happen (massive plane crash on the village green, flu pandemic, terrorist bomb) but it would still be better to have a plan than not have one at all. Hopefully we can try and feed our plan into that of higher authorities such as Waverley and Surrey CC and get their advance agreement to any steps we might take in the event of an emergency – e.g. being allowed to clear roads of snow using agricultural tractors. Known interested parties have already been invited but if we have missed anyone or if you feel you can contribute to the debate please feel free to come along. Please let the Clerk, Sue Frossard, know in advance on 01428 683906 or by emailing clerk@chiddingfold-pc.gov.uk. This will help with our planning. Cllr Richard Hogsflesh Chairman |
